Your marriage or relationship could be at breaking point – don’t miss the signs of walkaway partner syndrome

If you sense a change in your relationship or marriage, don't ignore it. Feeling like you are the only one putting in the work and not getting involvement from your partner indicates that something may be wrong.

These are the signs one should not ignore:

1. Decreased physical affection - if they are no longer touching or hugging you.

2. Insufficient emotional attention. When you talk to them, they look at their phone or sometimes are not interested in your thoughts or feelings.

3. They stop seeking your opinion and advice. When you have something to talk about, the first person you go to is your partner. If that stops, take note.

4. Avoiding time together. They no longer prioritise you; you or the relationship is not number one. It sends a clear message, and you should pay attention to it.

5. No discussion about the future. You aren't planning for the next year, the next five years, or vacations. When that stops, there is something wrong in the relationship.
