Did you hear Ray Dalio at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos Switzerland in May 2022 when he said "Cash is Trash."? He believes that the global economy is facing multiple threats, from wars like Ukraine-Russia, food shortages, climate change, Covid attacks, Fiat currencies cash slowly losing value with digital currencies creating digital gold rush. But are we shocked at these? Of course not, these have to happen as a sign of the end and for radical change to begin. Metaverse has begun and that's why we're now talking digital.

 

For the next 3 months we will be looking at how Afrika positions itself in the buzzing METAVERSE and how we can take advantage of this Metaverse in creating a Second Economy that is second to none, using Afrika's biggest resources, which are our Numbers and our Central Bank Digital Currency, the Lumi CBDC. 

 

We shall also unpack the Virtual World of the Metaverse and how we can Thrive Transform in these Technology Times. We will cover the Meta Economy, which is the Digital Second Economy created by the birth of the Metaverse and how we can incorporate Afrika's own CBDC, the Lumi Currency, into the Metaverse. We will look at the vast Opportunities brought by this Metaverse and how we can gain back the jobs and businesses we are now currently losing, look at how we can align ourselves our businesses to be future ready for this Virtual World. We will also look at the importance of integrating a home grown Social Networking Platform into Afrika's Metaverse and how women merchants will be empowered to thrive and assisted to set up in this virtual world, why should it interests us and why should Afrika take the lead.

 

If you didn't know, now you know.... The Metaverse is a Big Deal, it has started affecting your jobs businesses, it is coming for your lifestyle and sooner than later, it will affect your pocket big time. You need to start creating a good, positive, beneficial and intentional friendship with it now.

 

Very few people have succesfully managed to explain what a Metaverse is in more simpler terms, and my understanding may be far from a perfect clarification but I will attempt to bring you more to light. To me personally, a Metaverse is a virtual mirror of the actual world. It is a platform that creates the unified interface of interoperability between various industries on a virtual platform, or the migration of certain physical activities into virtual spaces. In my opinion, the Metaverse should not aim to create a different life away from the physical, but should attempt to improve the physical while connecting it to the virtual world.

 

Let me give you a brief story behind my obsession over the Metaverse and you will understand my crazy passion in this Virtual World...

 

In the last decade, I have relentlessly talked about Inclusive Economies and Inclusive Communities. I am blessed to be living in a time where these aspirations are morphing into life in the form of the metaverse.

 

In August 2012, I penned down a Concept Document which I named B9Zone, it was based on an inclusive Virtual World of 3D immersive spaces avatars, a World of the Metaverse, which I had a priviledge to introduce it to MTN and Blackberry Oracle in September 2012 and one more very important person in this journey who got to be the only close acquaintance to hear about my Metaverse concept in 2012 was Lunga Magida, the Founder former chief editor of the Journey Magazine. In August 2022, exactly 10yrs later, the Metaverse dream has finally morphed into Rolliverse, Afrika's Metaverse, will be launched.

 

Here is the most important thing we need to know, it is that The Metaverse is giving Afrika the greatest opportunity to rebuild itself without begging for approval nor permission from the World, or from anybody for that matter. Afrika has the greatest advantage over the World to make it big in the METAVERSE.

 

It has two greatest assets needed to drive any revolution and build any economy: Money Numbers. We have no excuse not to take advantage of this opportunity because we have both, the Money the Numbers, we have the 1.7 billion population in Africa and her diaspora,and we have the Lumi CBDC as our resource. It is time we stop exporting our numbers and start adopting our universal currency and use these to build a formidable Metaverse the world has ever seen.

 

The Metaverse is slowly changing how we understand money economy. It is shaking the current economic systems and morphing new ecosystems that are user centric rather than those defined by traditional financial insitituions, creating Second Economy.

 

It's interesting to watch the future unfolds and very scary to see many of us who are still blind to the imminent wave of change that is in the ether.

 

I am not saying this because I want to scare you. NO. But a greater wave more bigger than Covid is in the air and has been there for at least the past 20 yrs but we refuse to see it. We have been in denial because we defy change. 

 

It is time we embrace things we cannot change. 

 

The metaverse is here and it is not going anywhere. We just need to know how to co-exist with it or how to marry the two worlds, the physical and the digital.

 

Metaverse is a ticket to Afrika's Freedom. Freedom to build shape the Economy we want without any red tapes bureaucracies, Freedom to use our own Central Bank (ADCB) Currency (Lumi) without being confined by the World's regulations, Freedom to strengthen our Community Ecosystems build our mammoth capital base.

 

We need to constantly remind ourselves that Life started in Africa, Civilization started in Africa ( we instantly think of Mali Egypt), Education started in Africa ( we all know about Mansa Musa's 1st University in the World in Timbuktu, Mali), the 1st Revolution was powered by Africa's resources, both human natural resources (slavery agriculture mineral deposits).

 

Through these discussions, we are not creating enmity between Africa the World, we are saying that it is time for Africa to rise do it for itself, it is time to own up to the authority awaken to the responsibility to build Africa, it is time that the World takes a back seat allow us to build the Africa we want the Virtual Afrika we envisage. It is time we reconstruct our relationship with the World.

 

The World is a child of Afrika, it depends on Afrika to survive, without Afrika's resources, it would collapse, and never in our wildest dream would we want to see that collapse by pulling the plug.

 

No mother would beg her children for permission to make decisions and to engage in activities that build the household, but instead, the children submit support the mother's decisions for the benefit of all. So Afrika is now taking its rightful stand rising up to the occassion. We will no longer ask for permission from the World to start engaging in the building work of our Continent, we have so many ashes to clean, so many blocks to collect build.

 

We have been absent in all the previous revolutions, 4 to be exact. We cannot afford absence in the looming 5th revolution, which brings the 3rd generation of the Internet in the form of the Metaverse.

 

Metaverse is a 5th born child of the 5 children born from the Industrial Revolution. It would be disastrous for Afrika to be absent in the birth of this child as I want to believe that this would be the last Revolution this world would ever witness in its lifetime. Besides, this is an ultimatum Era, an Era of convergence of two world. We don't want to be spectators.
